The School of Architecture and Engineering at Jinggangshan University, formerly known as the Department of Architecture and Engineering at the former School of Engineering, began its establishment in 2005. Due to the needs of professional development, the School of Architecture and Engineering was established in August 2011, which was separated from the original School of Engineering.

After more than ten years of development, the college currently has two teaching departments, namely the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Architecture. It has five teaching and research departments, namely Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering Management, Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering, and Landscape Architecture. It also offers three undergraduate majors, namely Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Engineering Management. Among them, the Civil Engineering major is a key supporting major of Tongji University in supporting Jinggangshan University. It was established in 1989 and began undergraduate enrollment in 2007. In 2011, it was selected as one of the first "Excellent Talent Training Program Projects for Ordinary Undergraduate Universities in Jiangxi Province". In 2012, it was included in the first batch of undergraduate enrollment. In 2013, it began recruiting foreign students. In 2015, it began collaborating with foreign universities to carry out Sino foreign cooperative education projects. The undergraduate enrollment of Architecture and Engineering Management started in 2008, and both achieved the expected goals in the comprehensive evaluation of undergraduate majors in ordinary universities in Jiangxi Province in 2022. The major of Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering began undergraduate enrollment in 2011, and has been merged into the Civil Engineering major due to professional optimization and adjustment.

The college has a civil engineering experiment center, which consists of building structure laboratory, geotechnical laboratory, building materials laboratory, mechanics comprehensive laboratory, engineering measurement laboratory, building environment laboratory, architectural model laboratory, architectural photography laboratory, building environment simulation laboratory, project management simulation laboratory, digital design laboratory and other professional laboratories, We have collaborated with enterprises to build one practical base for collaborative education between industry and academia under the Ministry of Education, and one engineering technology center in Ji'an City. We have established a branch of the School of Architecture and Engineering at the Jinggangshan University Workstation under the Jiangxi Province "Haizhi Plan", and established external service platforms such as the Jinggangshan University Architecture Design and Research Institute and the Real Estate Research Center.

The college currently has 53 full-time teachers, including 1 professor, 5 associate professors, and 3 senior engineers; There are 10 doctoral students and 42 master's students, of which 15 are currently pursuing doctoral studies. There are a provincial discipline leader, a provincial new century talent project, a provincial young and middle-aged discipline leader, a doctoral supervisor, two master's supervisors, a provincial science and technology commissioner, 11 registered architects, registered planners, registered structural engineer, registered geotechnical engineers, etc., and 10 well-known scholars and industry and enterprise experts at home and abroad are employed as guest professors or part-time professors.

The college currently has over 1100 full-time students. In the past five years, the college students have won more than 100 national and provincial awards. They have achieved good results in the National Undergraduate Structure design competition, the National Undergraduate Mechanics Competition, the National Undergraduate BIM Graduation Design Innovation Competition, the National Undergraduate BIM-CIM Innovation Competition, the Jiangxi Undergraduate Structure design competition and other discipline competitions. The Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project has been approved by the national and provincial authorities for many consecutive years, The college's social practice service team was awarded the Excellent Team for the 2021 National College and Technical Secondary School Student Volunteer Summer "Three Going to the Countryside" Social Practice Activity.

The college adheres to the spirit of Jinggangshan and is based on professional construction, focusing on the needs of regional economic and social development, cultivating application-oriented specialized talents with firm ideals and beliefs, practical abilities, and humanistic qualities that integrate "thick foundation, strong practice, and innovation". In the process of running the school, we have received long-term counterpart support from Tongji University's School of Civil Engineering, School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and School of Surveying and Geographic Information.
